I have been super super busy with work..planning.. work..traveling.. sleep.. eating.. and have neglected this blog I swore I’d keep up with.  :o Oh well..I’m not married YET so I don’t have to be an addictive blogger.. (J/K)

Last weekend Bus and I headed to Utah on Friday afternoon/night to spend the weekend with my sister Erynne and close friend Colbilyn.  Saturday I tried on some weddin’ dresses and then we had some Pizza Factory for lunch with Arica, Robbie, Erynne, Colbi, Buster & me!   Arica had Bus and I over for an “Earth” watching sesh while Drew doodled on this comp for school/work.  We went to Utah for my old roommate Hannah Scoma’s wedding so following watching “Earth” we headed to her wedding reception.  She looked gorgeous and it was good to be there on her special day even if just for a bit at the reception.  Buster and I got to spend lots of time with Erynne, Colbi, Sharee, Heather, Arica & Drew, Desi and her family, Rachael & Steve, and Tori & Evan.  I got to stop into my ol’ salon Stuart Fraser’s to see the old crew.  I miss bits of Utah lots.  Of course Tuesday morning Buster and I are up early and on time to the airport.  I had used a buddy pass from a sweet lady at our church-complications with the buddy pass, the Pilot whom I got the pass through hadn’t paid a yearly annual fee of some-sort and I was unable to board my flight until they paid it.  After many calls and no response I missed the first 2 flights.. and ended up staying til that night.  I fit in another trip to Zupas with Erynne and Colbi and then spent the day with Taylor Wilson while Erynne worked.

Got home late Tuesday night and of course spent the rest of the week until Buster came playing “catch up” on all the work since Tuesday is normally a big day so not making that flight had really set me back.

Buster came Friday and we went on a quest to find amazing vintage outfits (or an outfit just for me) to wear for our engagements.  I finally found the PERFECT dress at Flashbacks in Hillcrest.  $21.25 for the amazing pale yellow dress.  It was seriously exactly what I was looking for and in the perfect fit.  After that we tried out a place we’d never heard of “Which Wich? – Superior Sanwiches”.  UHMMM.. can I say.. best sandwich joint in America.  Look up a location near you.  After eating that deliciousness we ran on downtown to the Urban Outfitters.. and it failed me.  I was stressed because I wanted a backup outfit for pictures.  We eventually headed home.. slept.

Saturday-I was up bright and early to do some hair for Karen Farley, the boys played some basketball and I got my passport picture taken.  After Bus was finished with the intense basketball game we went on a search for more outfits.. nothing was jumpin out at us.  I bought red Toms.  Best shoe ever. (I’m wearing Gold Glitter Toms at my reception with my dress… have to!)  So we decided on our second outfits – Buster wore a blue, red, yellow, cream flannel with his brown Sperry Topsiders and I wore a brown tank with a cream sweater with my red Toms.  We bought 5 different colored baloons and then got ourselves all hot for the pictures.  We met up with Susan and Ryan and headed out to Grape Day Park to take some pics in our first outfits (Vintage Dress for me and Buster wore brown fitted pants with white shirt -no pockets and a brown skinny tie and his brown Sperry’s)  We looked good.  Did a few shots there then headed over to Kit Karson.  Exhausted from all our modeling skills we ate some Red Robin and called it a night shortly after.

Sunday we went to an early stake conference and then relaxed the rest of the day.  At night we spent time with Lauren and baby Jordan… Played a lil guitar hero and went over wedding plans/ideas..watched some of the wild VMA’s then headed home.

Monday (Today) I had to work for a couple hours.  Buster had an interview/meeting with a temp agency.  Then we went and submitted all my paperwork for my passport so we can go on a tubular cruise for a honeymoonish. :)   Jack in the Box was next so we could try out the Coke Freestyle machine with 125 flavors in a box! Touch screen and all… if you haven’t tried it out – find one near you and get hooked!  After that I finished up some work and then we headed to Susan’s to look at the hundreds of engagement photos and pick some of our favorites.  We decided we should probably go and register at Target (say it fancy) and of course that was really fun.. deciding what colors we’d want in our house. (WHERE WILL WE LIVE?!)  I sure did get tuckered out though!  We went and got the car detailed and headed home to relax for a bit before heading to our regular airport drop off. :( No fun.  We of course made time to hit up the “Which Wich?” in Hillcrest again and then did the drop off.  Soon [as in 2 weeks] Buster will finally get to live in San Diego.  THAT will be perfection.

Welp… aren’t yall proud?  PS the new USED album is pretty dang good.. I’m loving the song “Kissing You Goodbye”… cute in a twisted way.

Time to head off to dreamer land.  Nightyyyy.

The “Warped Tour 2009 Proposal” Story August 25, 2009

ohhh the EXCITEMENT!

ohhh the EXCITEMENT!

Where do I even begin with this proposal story…

First off.. I wrote the WHOLE story out in much detail and then lost the entire thing… I will remember to copy the post and save it somewhere else before trying to “save draft” and having an error occur and losing it all!!! (and it was a long juicy post too!)

Saturday 8am August 22, 2009

Woke up…brushed the teeth..got dressed and headed to Haley’s to pick her up. We dropped by the ATM for some cash money and started on down the 15 South. We dropped off the freeway to grab a healthy breakfast of Jack in the Box and then continued the journey down to the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre. We arrived about 9:45 and waiting by the ticket lines for Micah Dean to bring us our “Vendor” passes. We started walking towards the chaos and Micah asked which bands we were wanting to see. I said “Saosin, Meg & Dia, and 3OH!3″. He said “I’m friends with the 3OH!3 guys, I could probably get us backstage for that set. (STOKED!) Micah then told Buster he had some “family stuff” he needed to talk to him about and dropped Haley and I off at the Tooth and Nail booth. (Truth: they went to the bathroom to talk about the engagement plans for later and ran into Nathaniel Motte-one of the singers of 3OH!3 and discussed plans for that day) We waited 10 minutes and when the boys returned we finished helping set up the booth.

We took a walk to check out the chaos and show times for the bands. Come to find out all of the bands we were wanting to see were after 5pm. We watched the skate boarders for a bit and people watched as we decided to leave and get some Panda Express and Motrin for my headache coming on. After lunch and 30 minutes of traffic to only move 2 miles, we got back through the gates and to the booth. Micah was gone getting lunch and Buster wanted to relax so Haley and I went to check out Chiodos. When we got back Buster said “Lindsay come with me to look at a shirt” and as we walked off he said “Micah just wanted to talk to Haley (ya know to flirt it up) so I told him we’d leave them alone”. (Truth: Micah was telling Haley the 411 of later events) When Buster and I walked back to the table Micah asked Haley and I to hand out these “Free Download Samples” magazines to the teenagers of warped tour, so off Haley and I went to hand out a couple hundred magazines to 13-17 year old teenagers stoked to get this waste of space magazine. (We targeted the kids with backpacks who were already collecting other useless junk) When we were just about done after our 3rd trip out Buster sent me a text telling me he’d meet me at Meg & Dia at 5:45pm. Haley and I waited and waited at the Hurley stage… and suddenly Bayside came on.. we were at the wrong stage so we found the right stage and there was no Micah or Buster to be found. Buster said Micah’s dinner was taking longer than expected and they’d make it over for the last song. We told them not to worry we’d just meet them at the booth after. (Truth: Buster and Micah were being interviewed by a girl for the San Diego Warped Tour blog and finished just before Haley and I returned to the booth)

*interview starts about 1:35

We got back to the booth and headed to Micah’s tour bus to hang for a bit before heading to the 3OH!3 set. Micah finally told us we should head out to the stage to see if there was room for us. When we walked up Nathaniel Motte walked up to me and introduced himself (which I thought was odd since it’s not like he knew me or had any reason to talk to JUST me) we then were directed by Micah to stand beside the ramp onto the stage while the woman directing people on stage said we could go. She chose us as the first group to go, which confused me since we had been told we may not be getting on stage.

As we stood around waiting for the set to start Micah turned to us (directed at Buster) “This ain’t no pep rally” and then went on to say “Lindsay would be you be nervous to get up in front of this many people?” Acting all tough I said “Not at all.. I’ve been in front of lots of people at pep rally’s and stuff.” (Side note: there were thousands of people in the crowd!) 3OH!3 shortly after started their set and played a couple songs. After one of the songs Nat stopped and asked “So how many of you guys this is your first time seeing a 3OH!3 show tonight!?” and then continued on to say “Well I’ll tell you what, we got someone up here on stage.. Hey Lindsay.. I hear it’s your first time seeing a 3OH!3 show?” (side note: in Micah’s version of the video you see me look back at this point and say to the camera “You guys are so gay” because I was thinking at this point they were playing a joke on me and going to make me sing in front of everyone because of the conversation prior to all of this) I respond in a bratty way (since I have seen them before) “Sure.” Then he calls Buster forward and says “Tell everyone what happens at 3OH!3 shows.” Buster takes the mic. (This is when my heart starts racing.. I’m nervously glancing around- I don’t even remember what I looked at.. I knew what was about to happen and was anxious. Neither Buster or I remember hearing how loud the crowd was until we went back and watched all videos)

Buster then rambles for a bit about who knows what and then drops to his knee, pulls out a Green Watermellon Ring Pop and says “Lindsay, will you marry me!?!” I say “YES!” and now is the part where I wish I could have a RE-DO! I didn’t act nearly as excited or surprised as I really was. I was so caught off guard and nervous I acted awkward! We kissed and began walking back as Nathaniel Motte and Sean Foreman come over and hugged us and said congrats.
